A discussion of the way of being.
The courage is not the fight… but the embrace to Be.
The courage is not in the fight… but to let go of yourself and to embrace and expand into the unknown. That is to let go of your old self… surrender and go beyond what is known and embrace the unknown. We are taught to fear the unknown. A hero fights and is eager for the battle. And in the battle, he/she embraces the excitement to be tested and of the discovery. But the hero’s journey home is to let go. The letting go… of the battle. Not surrendering as an action of the warrior but surrendering into the compassion and grace of a hero. It is not surrendering to all that is, which is the past. Release the past and step into the unknown. It is returning to the feminine. The release, again stepping into the unknown.
Eagle or Owl?
Both the eagle and owl hunt. One by night, one by day, it is the way. The strategy of the eagle is the 10k foot view, seeing the terrain, focuses on the prey and executes on the opportunity. The tactic of the owl is sitting quietly and feeling into the dark knowing that what is to be done. Both eagle and owl’s way of life is the experience of being what they are. It is their journey of being who they are which makes up their quality of existence. The experience, the journey is experienced only in the being. What is our path of experience? Is our being the revelation of who we are? Who are you?
Audacious
The audaciousness to be. It is not to fight… but the embrace of letting go of yourself. Surrendering the old self that was known. Embracing and expanding into the unknown. Many are taught to fear the unknown, never to feel the joy and surprise of revelation. The hero is eager for the fight of self. And in the battle, embraces the excitement to be tested and of the discovery of the self. Yet the hero’s return home is the journey of letting go. Not the surrender of the warrior but the liberation of the past and the emancipation of compassion and grace. Letting It is not surrendering to all that is, which is the past. Release the past and step into the unknown. It is returning to the feminine, stepping into the opportunity or potential of the unknown. A hero fights for themselves, seeing themselves in others. But a soldier merely fights, while not knowing who they are. But a being knows who they are not; and thus willing to embrace who they might be.
What is known and unknown?
It is the wisdom to trust in yourself to trust the unknown. Knowing that whatever happens is for you, flows to you and through you. The battle worn hero knows that light and dark are just two aspects of battle. Both have their function, strategy, victory, and defeat. And ultimately to embrace both in the same being.
The Eagle, the Owl, and the Rorschach
Whether it’s an eagle or owl; or dragon and phoenix, what one sees or encounters the issue is your response to the encounter? Your response reveals your interpretation and understanding. It is a mere reflection in the mirror of your consciousness. The same goes for life. Whatever we encounter, we will project some kind of interpretation or understanding. From a psychological perspective, life is like a Rorschach test. Life can be a random presentation. What is meaningful is your interpretation of what is presented. It is a matter of your experiences, bias, filters, or programing. Thus consciousness, the mirror is a tool to understand your response; what, when, where, why and how you respond. In the fairy tale of Snow White, the wicked witch asks “mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?” It is the retelling of Narcissus becoming obsessed by his reflection and failing to notice the opportunities to choose to do something different from what the past dictated. This is like the biblical story of Lot’s wife turning to look at the past and turning to a pillar of salt. It is valuable to reflect or examine the known… But it is more important to learn from the past (or known) and then ask, “now what?”
Karma
The past or fate of karma (the victim mindset does not doom or curse you). Karma presents something similar. The “reflection” that you are familiar with; is but an opportunity to learn and do something differently (karma as a lesson for you). And by doing something different, you understand you are doing you. Meaning that karma is done by you, for you, and through you. More in just a moment.
Eagle
As you do more interpretation, you will find your own systems and themes. The eagle’s view is the 10,000-foot level where one can see the terrain, where things are and how things move. The 10,00-foot view is more about strategy. It is more about the right-handed male or head centered perspective. Psychologically, it is the individuation or separation that enables the analytic, rational or ego view of how things fit and work together.
Owl
The owl also has sharp vision. Able to perceive, or perhaps better to hear and feel what is unseen and hides in the dark. Owls are more associated with knowledge and intuition. Knowledge and intuition are difficult to see. But one sees the results. This is more about the left-handed female heart centered perspective. Psychologically, it is about being in the mix or in the unity of being in a relationship. Relationship and interaction is the stew that enables working with and getting things done.
Both hunt (search); One hunts by day and the other by night. And both have excellent vision and knowing. One is by strategy the other by the tactic of intuition, feeling and doing/being.
“In Chinese culture, the phoenix and the dragon are powerful symbols that represent harmony and auspiciousness. They are often seen as counterparts, representing opposite sides of the same thing:
- The Dragon
Associated with strength, passion, and the element of water. Dragons are often depicted in stories, such as Journey to the West and Dragon stories.
- The Phoenix
Associated with kindness, tenderness, and the element of fire. The phoenix’s symbolic significance is mostly in how it relates to the dragon.
Together, the dragon and phoenix represent the balance between Yin and Yang, the opposing forces that give rise to each other. This concept was often used in architecture and festivals in ancient China. For example, in a traditional Chinese wedding ceremony, the groom gives the bride a dragon bangle, and the bride gives the groom a phoenix bangle. This symbolizes the unity of opposites and the completion of the couple. (AI generated).
Of course, eagles versus owls are an indigenously culturally Western. And in Eastern indigenous cultures, it is the mythology of dragon and phoenix. Whereas dragons are associated with nurturing and protecting. And the phoenix is about death and rebirth. Both are required but are only one-half of the whole. As one learns, understands, and becomes adept at both aspects/paths; then there is a transcendence of being. Numerological it is the symbology of 1+1=3. Or as in the Tao, the Yin and Yang is the Wei. And the female and male tantric dynamic that conceives and births a new way of being. Which continues into contemporary presentations, such as
“Some folks trust to reason
Others trust to might
I don’t trust to nothing
But I know it come out right…” (Playing in the Band, Grateful Dead, Hunter/Weir, 1971)
Cool, so what?
One needs to develop their way of doing things, using both the way of the eagle and owl (or dragon and phoenix). One learns to follow their internal sense of themselves instead of some external reference or authority. It is the development of one’s internal compass and reference. Currently, many are realizing the old external reference points are crumbling and no longer useable. In a sense, this is because the notions of space, time and movement no longer work in our emerging “way of being.”
Being is not a matter of physical space, time, and flow. But of being integral, with sovereignty, compassion and grace. In 3-D existence, it was what, where, when, why and how of coordination with physical reality. In the emerging dimension, the precedent is about meaning, purpose, and being. Sharing and collaboration in creating a new way of being (existence). It is about setting down the “tracks,” rules, and parameters of being in, with, and beyond the existence both individually, in unity with each other and the abiding audacious. It is the “in and out” of things. That is being both sovereign, integral, and authentic within yourself and in your relationship with others and in your environment. Thus, the former distinctions between light/dark, yin/yang, male/female, etc. become faded accoutrements of former grandiose illusions.
Granular physics and the notions of Darwinist evolution, individual, corporate entities and states have been in decline for at least the past 100 years and are now turning to dust. Yet growing is the ethereal interaction, the energetic, frequency or vibe relationships creating a new way of being in a soup of energy that is beyond the physical form yet continues in constant change. Emerging is a liquid form instead of the physical form… merely a change of energetic state, e.g., from ice to water. Playing with ice versus water are two completely different states of being.
Subtleness
Being is based on meaning, purpose and action, which emerges as the interaction, dynamic or flow of relationships. It is in the interaction when things happen or come into existence. Of course, there is intention, but it is not like the preparation phase or the process of imagine, intend, and the result is manifestation. Manifestation happens in the interaction… in the being in and of relationship. However, we don’t know what will happen. And we will only know what happens in the experience of it happening. The difference is the process… the old way was imagined, intend, create and manifest, like the gardening metaphor.
Whereas the new emerging way is to “be and it is done.” In a sense, everything is already done. It is done by you, for you, and through you. Which is more of a synchronistic (instead of a process of coordination) thing that happens. It is of being, i.e., because you are, everything is. The trick or secret is to be. Specifically, it is the act to allow, surrender and wonder. There is no doing. It is simply, “be” divine, compassionate, and graceful… there is no reason to be otherwise. And being otherwise is just the opportunity to be. That is to be, understand and know that to be, is the divine way. Thus, the statement of “I am!” And yet even a more subtle way is to just…BE.
The disorienting thing about being… to BE, from the standpoint of our current 3-D and 4-D reality. Is that everything happens immediately. Thoughts, feelings, connections, interactions and relationships occur immediately and without effort. So, there is no “when” (or time) everything occurs immediately. It is like “instant karma… or instant manifestation.” Thus, the sage saying of “be careful of what you wish for… or choose wisely.” There is no space and time distinction between being and having. You are what you are… it is what it is… it cannot be otherwise. Thus, from a moral, ethical, or authentic/integral perspective… we are terrifyingly “naked.”
This instantly emergent way of being may be challenging for folks. But it is the opportunity or learning… “it is done for you, by you, and through you.” Therefore, the importance of understanding the concepts and interaction (relationships and processes) of sovereignty, integrity, compassion, and gracefulness… are matters of being. Specifically matters of divinity, i.e., the self-evident and inalienable right (sovereignty) of being. This is the basis for asking of “who am I?” and the subsequent response of “I am!” The second question is “what do I love, what is my passion, and joy for being?” Which translates to what is my meaning and purpose of being? Or what do I declare myself to be? And the last question is “what shall I do about it? Which is ultimately beyond doing. It is about the self-declarative, self-evident and inalienable sovereignty of being!
The Emergency of Emergence, i.e., Change.
Emergence is happening as it always has been. Whether one sees this as an emergency or as an emergence. Both emergencies and emergence do not last long, it happens in the blink of an I. We are briefly in a time between times. Everyone has this brief opportunity to decide to be… or not to be. To choose wisely. It does not take much effort, training, or preparation. It only takes the understanding to deciding “to be… or not to be,” i.e., the moment of change. That is to continue to “not to be,” which is to be less than you are. It is impossible to determine what will be… is left to you and your being. To be is both humble and audacious in being beyond what you have known yourself to be.
Blessings,
Tim
