What Would Love Do?

A discussion of “what would love do?”

Thank you and Acknowledgment

Thanks to Emilio Ortiz. He discusses consciousness with a wide range of interesting guests. At the end of each podcast, he asks each guest the “time capsule question.” The past week, he had me wondering how I would answer this question. Subsequently, this led to the inspiration for this week’s post. Consider following and subscribing to Emilio at https://www.youtube.com/@EmilioOrtiz

The Question

The time capsule question: Go out in the future 15-20 years when the young generations of today will step into leadership positions in the world. So, given the opportunity to leave behind a time capsule for future generations of leaders. What would you leave behind for them, to help them be best equipped to lead into a new golden age?

My Rationale

Presume “love” and “being” are both a noun, verb, and an energetic state of being or existence.

My Response

In the future, folks facing challenging situations regardless of one’s life position. Instead of giving a piece of advice. I would simply note, to ask themselves the following question. “What would Love do?” (WWLD?)

The WWLD question reminds us of our sovereign capacity to choose to be, act and exist in our inherent divinity. Thus, “what would Love do?” Is the question, despite the situation, that would remind and encourage us to be and act in a divine manner. That is to be courageous, sovereign, compassionate, graceful and to love. Which is our free will to abide in our divinity… or not. Essentially, recognizing that every moment is the opportunity to be divine creators. That we all have the divine spark of God within and have the choice to see, do, exist and be divine. That it is our birthright, nature, and being-ness… if we so choose. Often we simply forget “who we are?”

Thus, you being, a being of love and being in love… what would love do? Is the answer that is appropriate regardless of the situation.

Regardless of the future, whether it is in the next moment, next day, the next year, in 15 years or 15 lifetimes from now. The answer is as a question of what would Love do? Is a reminder of who we are and challenges us to remember that we are beings of love.

So, it’s important to stop, ask and wonder WWLD?

Back in the day, there was the proclamation. That “God is love.” And now emerging is the recovery (or re-discovery) of the idea that we are and carry a spark of the divine within us. Thus, when we are confused, anxious, fearful, etc. regardless of our state of being, it is worthwhile to stop and ask, “what would Love do?” It is the same thing as asking ourselves, “what would God do? (external)” But the question “what would Love do” brings the question internally (to within us) to ask, what is our immediate compassionate action that we can do? What shall we do in this moment for this situation? The question encourages us to become actionable (verb and being) in and of our state of being. It does not matter the situation. Love becomes the action, our state of being and who we are. To love, for love, through love, we become and are love incarnate (embodied in action and being). Which is a being, an impulse/response, action, and creation that is appropriate for the situation that is before us now (whenever that is?). For we are in love and become love (the energy, state, and being).

Whether at the dinner table, on the street, at work, in the boardroom, etc. Ask yourself the question of “what would love to do?” It is an appropriate and actionable question that both reminds us of who we are (divine beings) and what we might do regardless of the situation. It could be as simple as taking a deep mindful breath, a smile, warm greeting, acknowledgment of another’s pain or suffering, a blessing, a moment of holding endless space for compassion, empathy, grace, etc.
